Tiger Welding & Manufacturing is owned and operated by Shane and Mitzi Cheldelin. They started the business at a location east of Hansen, Idaho, in 2005, then moved to the current location at 409 Main Street South in Hansen in 2006. Their goal is to offer affordable repair, refurbishment and manufacturing services to their customers – especially local farmers. An understanding of the local economy and small businesses contributes to their success.

Shane grew up on farms in Eastern Washington and Southwest Idaho. He learned how to weld after high school and studied mechanical engineering and CAD drafting through the University of Idaho. He began working in the dairy field in Idaho and then moved to California where he worked in the dairy industry doing maintenance and animal husbandry. While there, Shane had the opportunity to work as a journeyman welder under an expert welder. He learned the many different types and applications of welding and applied them in the field. This company’s main job was repairing large construction equipment.

Upon returning to Idaho, he worked for Gem State Manufacturing in Nampa, Idaho, designing and manufacturing Trailmax trailers for six years. Shane, Mitzi and family moved to the Magic Valley in 1998, where he worked on farms owned by Mitzi's family. Here he gained first hand knowledge of farm machinery by operating, building, and repairing farm equipment. His custom designs for Tiger Welding and Manufacturing’s signature products - the combine belt unloader and the loader quick attach - were born from this knowledge. In addition to farm equipment, Shane has worked on many different kinds of projects since opening Tiger Welding and Manufacturing.

Mitzi was born and raised a city girl in Twin Falls, Idaho, but loved spending a lot of time on her grandparent’s farm in Kimberly, Idaho. She has been an entrepreneur since her teenage years when she started and operated Mitzi’s Mowing Service and had two employees. She has always enjoyed taking control of business operations including managing a travel agency, running her own Ebay business, and working as a school secretary. Mitzi enjoys working with Shane at Tiger Welding and Manufacturing as chief financial officer, head of human resources, and also maintenance supervisor; in other words, doing the books, managing the employee policies, and cleaning up the shop at the end of the day.

Shane and Mitzi have four children and live in Kimberly. They are active members of the Twin Falls County Farm Bureau. Shane and Mitzi enjoy supporting the schools and other local activities and businesses in both Hansen and Kimberly.
